As a teenager, I read his biography, Le Testament (in French). I highly recommend it — it's well-written and captivating.

Why praising these people?
They runned prostitution brothels how many ofbthose women were beaten, killed, deceieved and raped, then pushed them to become prostitute. The funny thing is that none ofbthese mob guys on social media or the media tycoons that shows their biography, never go into these datails, because they know the audiences will not find it very admireable.

Where were Maranzano's bodyguards? The story has been simplified. More than Lacania wanted Maranzano gone – including his own people. He'd grown too big for his shoes. There were silent players above both Maranzano & Lacania that really called the shots.

I don't think I missed it. I don't think they said how Lucky came by his nickname which in this case when you're presenting the biography of a guy the incident that earned him his nickname was a pretty significant episode in the guy's life as he nearly didn't survive it. Also I don't think they presented anything about his early life like where he came from, what town, anything that might be known about his parents or how old he was when he hopped on a steamer to the United States and what he did when he first got here, beyond meeting Meyer Lansky when both were apparently still kids.

He turned it into a business, and that is what makes him the true king of the gangsters and is now studied in law enforcement circles. He was right about the heroin, but he was not as keen on the cocain when it arrived because he felt that because the effects didn't last long, he could see that the people who were using it would be committing more and more crime to feed their habits and he knew it was addictive because he had seen people who were taking it go from normal people to chasing the drug like a greyhound chasing a rabbit. And he was right when he said that if it was imported in large quantities, it would become a problem for the soldiers because they thought it wasn't addictive and it proved true by the 80s and into the nineties and led to many convictions of high ranking. But it was R.I.C.O. that finally came after them and they are not as powerful as they used to be, but they have plenty of legitimate ways to make money now,and the loyalty of the past is a long way in the past.

Meyer Lansky was as important to Luciano as Luciano was to Arnold Rothstein, and Rothstein knew about Hoover as well because he was always seen with his personal assistant,who was a young,good looking guy who always wore white suits, like a bride. And the gangsters of the l29 to the formation of the F.B.I,the criminal organisation like the Mafia knew what Hoover was, but it is also why he was there till he died, and he had dirt on a lot of people, and not just Americans either. He was a nasty little cross dressing homosexual,and the gangsters knew it,and that is why he was there from the beginning till he died, because he had dirt on anyone who was making a name for themselves in crime, but they sent him a picture, a picture that he couldn't let see the light of day, and it showed him that he had to have something on people who could become a problem. But as one of you said, he still got his cut.

This was a Great documentary. But I can't believe they left out the whole Vegas being built part. It was Luciano and Lansky that finaced and backed Siegel. And lead to Las Vegas being built. What I don't understand is why Siegel didn't use his own money. Well I guess that's a dumb question. Why use your money when you can use someone else's. It's said that he was worth aprox. $100 million when he was killed. (Kind of hard to believe? But…) Maybe if he used his own money or some of it he wouldn't have gotten killed?
